Brown the Beef:
- Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.5 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- Add the beef and cook until browned on all sides.1 Kg Beef Stroganoff
- Remove from the pan and set aside.
Sauté Vegetables and Combine with the Beef:
- In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until softened.1 Large Onion, 2 Garlic Cloves
- Add the mushrooms and cook until they release their liquid.200 g Mushroom
Create the Sauce:
- Add Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, salt, and pepper and stir.1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 Tbsp Tomato paste, 1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard, ½ Tsp Salt and, ¼ TSP Black pepper
- Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to coat.2 Tbsp Flour
- Add the bay leaf.1 Bay Leaf
- Gradually whisk in the beef broth, heavy cream.1 Cup Beef broth, 1 Cup Cooking cream
- Once the sauce starts boiling, return the cooked beef to the pot.
Simmer:
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
