Ingredients
  

  • 1 Medium onion Finely chopped
  • 4 Garlic Cloves Finely chopped
  • ½ Tsp Salt
  • ¼ Tsp White Pepper
  • 1 Tsp Cumin
  • 4 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 Lt Water
  • ¼ Cup Lemon Juice
  • 100 G Kidney Beans Canned
  • 100 G White Beans Canned
  • 100 G Chickpeas Canned
  • ¼ Cup Rice Washed and drained
  • ¼ Cup Green Lentils Washed and drained
  • ¼ Cup Burghul Medium

Instructions
 

Prepare the sauce:
  1. In a large pot heat the olive oil on medium to high heat and saute the finely chopped onions and garlic until transparent
    1 Medium onion, 4 Tbsp Olive Oil, 4 Garlic Cloves
  2. Add the salt,white pepper, cumin and stir
    ½ Tsp Salt, ¼ Tsp White Pepper, 1 Tsp Cumin
  3. Add water, and stir.
    2 Lt Water
  4. Cover the pot and simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Add the grains:
  1. Once the sauce starts boiling add gradually washed and drained beans, chickpeas, rice and lentils.
    100 G Kidney Beans, 100 G White Beans, ¼ Cup Rice, ¼ Cup Green Lentils, 100 G Chickpeas
  2. Add the bulgur.
    ¼ Cup Burghul
  3. Cover and leave to boil for 10 minutes.
  4. Add lemon juice and boil for another 5 to 10 minutes.
    ¼ Cup Lemon Juice
  5. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.

Notes

If you are using dry grains (beans, or chickpeas) make sure to soak them in hot water overnight before cooking.
In this recipe you can use any type of beans that you have at home, there are no specific ingredients to use.
