Equipment

  • 1 Pot

Instructions

Prepare the Green Beans:
  1. Cut Green Beans: For ideal texture and sauce absorption, trim both beans ends, cut each bean in half lengthwise (vertically), and then cut these halves into smaller pieces, approximately 1.5-inch segments.
  2. Wash and drain your fresh green beans well and set aside.
Build the Flavorful Sauce:
  1. In a large, heavy-bottomed pot, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
Add the chopped onions and sauté for 5-7 minutes until they become translucent and softened.
4 Tbsp Vegetable oil or Olive Oil, 1 Medium Onion
  2. Stir in the minced garlic. Sauté for another 1-2 minutes until it becomes fragrant and just begins to turn golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as it can turn bitter very quickly.
    2 Garlic Cloves
  3. Add the ground meat to the pot.
Break it up with a spoon and cook, stirring occasionally, until it's completely browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
    200 G Ground Meat
  4. Once the meat is cooked through, season it generously with salt, seven spices, ground cinnamon, and white pepper.
Stir well to ensure the meat is evenly coated with the spices.
½ Tsp Salt, ½ Tsp Seven Spices, ½ Tsp Ground Cinnamon, ¼ Tsp White Pepper
Simmer the Stew to Perfection:
  1. Add the prepared green beans to the pot with the seasoned meat and aromatics.
    500 G Green Beans
  2. Stir in the diced tomatoes (undrained) and the tomato paste.
    Mix everything well to combine.
1 Medium Tomato, ¼ Cup Tomato Sauce
  3. Pour in enough water to just cover the ingredients in the pot.
    Give everything a good stir.
    2 Cups Water
  4. Bring the stew to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low.
Cover the pot and simmer for at least 45 minutes to 1 hour, or even longer (up to 1.5 hours), stirring occasionally.
The stew is ready when the green beans are incredibly tender and almost melt in your mouth, and the sauce has thickened slightly.
Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
