Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Bulgur
  • 1 ½ Cup Boiling Water
  • 4 Tbsp Vegetable Oil or Olive Oil
  • 1 Medium Onion Finely chopped
  • 4 Garlic Cloves Finely chopped
  • 1 Tomato Diced
  • ½ Cup Tomato Sauce
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • ¼ Tsp Cumin
  • ¼ Tsp White Pepper

  • 1 Pot

Instructions
 

Sauté the Aromatics:
  1. Heat the oil in a pot over medium heat, add the onion and garlic, and sauté until golden brown.
    4 Tbsp Vegetable Oil, 1 Medium Onion, 4 Garlic Cloves
Add Spices and Tomato:
  1. Stir in salt, cumin, white pepper.
    1 Tsp Salt, ¼ Tsp Cumin, ¼ Tsp White Pepper, 1 Tomato
  2. Mix well and then add the diced tomatoes.
Combine Ingredients:
  1. Add the bulgur wheat, and tomato sauce to the pot. Stir well to combine.
    1 Cup Bulgur, ½ Cup Tomato Sauce
Add Water and Simmer:
  1. Pour boiling water over the mixture. Cover the pot and simmer on low-medium heat until the water is absorbed and the bulgur is cooked.
    1 ½ Cup Boiling Water

Notes

Serving Suggestion:
Serve this hearty bulgur wheat warm or at room temperature. It pairs well with a side salad, yogurt, or your favorite protein.
